About the department:
In UG Microbiology Programme, students are at the heart of everything we do. We offer a supportive and inclusive learning environment with mentorship, experiential learning opportunities, and career development programs. Our goal is to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in their chosen careers.
Programme Outcomes (PO)
- PO-1 : Microorganisms survive everywhere life is possible.
- PO-2 : The whole world depends on the activities of microorganisms and they influence human society in many ways.
- PO-3 : On these aspects modern microbiology has a great impact on different fields such as medicine, agricultural and food sciences, ecology, genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology.
- PO-4 : The students graduating in Microbiology will be able to acquire, retain and apply specialized concept and knowledge relevant to abundance of microbiological field.
- PO-5 : They will also gain knowledge in laboratory safety and in routine and specialized microbiological skills applicable to clinical research
- PO-6 : It including accurately reporting observations and analysis.
- PO-7 : The course will help them to impart the knowledge of the various branches of microbiology - bacteriology, virology, mycology, immunology and parasitology.
- PO-8 : They including the nature of pathogenic microorganisms, pathogenesis, laboratory diagnosis, transmission, prevention and control of diseases common in the country.
- PO-9 : It helps us to understand our world and our place within it.
- PO-10 : It gives us insights into the complexity of nature and society, which in turn provide many different healths, environmental, social, cultural, industrial and economic benefits.
- PO-11 : The course is reasoning and application based, making the students eligible for higher studies, jobs in various sectors and entrepreneurship abilities.
Programme Specific Outcomes (PSO)
- PSO-1 : The microbiological equipment especially Microscope, Incubator, Laminar Air Flow chamber, Centrifuge etc.
- PSO-2 : The microorganism especially Bacteria, Fungi, Algae, Protozoa, Virus.
- PSO-3 : The various fields in microbiology particularly Agricultural, Medical, Environmental, Industrial areas.
