Department of Nutrition and Dietetics

About the department:

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics was established in the year of 2018. Nutrition and Dietetics is a burgeoning field with full of possibilities and one that is expected to see a remarkable bloom over the next decade. Our work focuses towards nurturing the students in solving the nutritional issues and setbacks faced by the community to forge a society with fitness and finesse. To impart a solid understanding of standards of nutrition and dietetics practice and develop essential leadership skills to play a pivotal role to promote nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices in our society and beyond.

ORGIN OF DEPARTMENT
  • Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Started as Bacler degree in the year of 2018 by 40 students.Now past 4years the department running successfully by 3 staffs and nearly 160 students in department.
  • B. Sc Nutrition & Dietetics is three years under Graduate programme offered various opportunities in the field of medical sports and health care. The department is a sub discipline of Medicine that focuses on all the aspects of food and its effects on human bodies. The program me is focused on the study of food management and promotion of health through healthy food. This essentially involves an advanced learning in ways to enhance the quality of life and overall well-being through dietary modifications.

Objectives of the Programme

  • Gain basic knowledge in the major areas of namely Food and Nutrition, Human Development, Family Resource Management and Extension Education.
  • Have hands-on experience in Food preparation and Processing, Biochemical Analysis, Meal planning, Therapeutic Nutrition, Preschool teaching, Creche Management, Interior Decoration and Lab.
  • Get practical exposure from a month long Dietetic Internship.
  • To develop entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship skill in various Govt. and non Govt
  • Produce able teachers, administrators and entrepreneurs
  • Conscientise the community on food, nutrition and health.

+2 Pass (Chemistry and Biology compulsory subjects taken in their higher secondary studies) State Board or equivalent examination of any other board.
